Will Stipe Miocic retain his title in a trilogy bout against Daniel Cormier?




Daniel Cormier and Stipe Miocic are finally set to meet each other for the third time at UFC 252 which is going to take place in August.

Recently, Dana White announced that this trilogy fight will probably take place on August 15 at the fight island which was recently announced as the Yas Island at Abu Dhabi. But, Reports are certain that this fight would take place in the US in a location which is to be announced.

The agreements for this fight were issued and recently Daniel Cormier posted a picture on his social media accounts which signified his sign to the contract.

Stipe Miocic and Daniel Cormier met twice earlier.

First, Daniel Cormier faced Stipe Miocic at UFC 226 for the UFC heavyweight championship. Daniel Cormier had an upper hand in the fight by beating Miocic in the first round via knockout.

This victory led DC to become the second fighter to hold two titles simultaneously in the UFC. Daniel Cormier carried light heavyweight and heavyweight titles. Daniel Cormier is also one of the few fighters to defend both the titles.

Daniel Cormier met Stipe Miocic at UFC 241 for the second time in a rematch where Stipe Miocic ended the championship reign of DC in the fourth round via TKO.

Stipe Miocic never defended his title after his victory over Daniel Cormier. This will be his first title defence ever and both of the fighters never entered the octagon after meeting at UFC 241.

The fight is in favour of Daniel Cormier because Stipe Miocic seems to be rustier than Daniel Cormier. Also, The winner of this fight is potentially set to face the predator, Francis Ngannou at later event. Francis Ngannou has caught the attention of the whole heavyweight with his recent performances.

Also, Dana White announced a few match cards for the upcoming event of UFC 251.

Dana White announced a welterweight fight between Kamaru Usman and Gilbert Burns for the welterweight championship. This would be the headline card for the event.

UFC featherweight champion, Alexander Volkanovski is scheduled to face Max Holloway in a rematch. This fight would serve as the co-headliner.

Last but not least, There would be a main event deserving fight between Petr Yan and Jose Aldo for the vacant BantamWeight Championship.
