Dan Hooker explains why Gaethje picked Poirier
The UFC Fight Night will be live this Saturday headlining Dustin Poirier and Dan Hooker.
Dustin Poirier is coming after a long time after his loss to the Eagle. The match with Khabib Nurmagomedov didn't go well for The Diamond and he is set to prove again that he is a worthy contender for the lightweight championship.
Everyone has their eyes on Dustin Poirier including the newly crowned interim lightweight champion Justin Gaethje. Recently Justin Gaethje picked Dustin Poirier as his favorite to win the match.
Dan Hooker who will face the Diamond come this Saturday recently explained his opinion on why the Highlight picked the Diamond over him.
Dan Hooker thinks that Justin Gaethje picked Dustin Poirier for a simple reason that Poirier defeated Gaethje. Justin Gaethje was last defeated by the Diamond and The Hangman thinks that's the main reason for Gaethje to pick Poirier.
The Hangman explained that if someone knocks you out, you would love them to succeed. Dustin Poirier flatlined Justin Gaethje and if Dan Hooker flatlines Dustin Poirier, It would be a bit of trouble to Gaethje and Hooker thinks that's the reason for Gaethje's pick.
Dan Hooker is coming off with a stunning victory over Paul Felder. Dan Hooker survived the five-round wrath of Paul Felder and he thinks that experience will help him in taking Poirier.
Dan Hooker stated that his match with Paul Felder helped him a lot in giving the confidence and experience needed.
But somewhere bottom in the heart, Dan Hooker knows what Poirier is capable of. Dan Hooker stated that it will be very hard to take a durable guy like Dustin Poirier. Dan Hooker thinks that Dustin can't survive his iron fists and Dan is waiting to punch Poirier in the face.
Regarding the Diamond, Dustin Poirier will make it after almost nine months. Dustin Poirier lost to the Eagle Khabib Nurmagomedov in a unifier bout last September and this victory will push him to the top of the division.
