UFC 251 Odds and Predictions
UFC 251, So-called blockbuster of Summer will be live this Saturday headlining Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal. The two masters of welterweight will fight at Yas Island for the Welterweight Championship.
UFC 251 is set for three title fights which will also feature a featherweight championship bout between Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway, and for the vacant bantamweight belt featuring Petr Yan and Jose Aldo.
The blast is not finished yet. Amanda Ribas is set to clash with Paige VanZant, who recently fired over UFC regarding payment issues. Also, Jessica Andrade will take on Rose Namajunas in a strawweight bout. Without further delay, Let's get into the predictions column.
Kamaru Usman vs Jorge Masvidal - Welterweight Championship
Kamaru 'The Nigerian Nightmare' Usman will defend his welterweight championship at the main event of UFC 251 against Jorge 'Gamebred' Masvidal, who earned the spot of Gilbert Burns.
Does anyone think that Masvidal is a fool for volunteering to face Kamaru Usman on six days' short notice? No, he is far more brilliant. It's a win-win situation for the BMF champion. Jorge Masvidal has two reasons for facing Kamaru Usman. The first reason is the pay and the next reason is he is confident to down Kamaru Usman.
Jorge Masvidal has no problem if he loses the fight because he gets the pay which he badly wanted. It is reported from various sources that Gamebred's minimum pay would be one million dollars. Also, No one would blame the BMF champion for losing to Kamaru Usman as he is facing on six days of short notice.
We can presume that Jorge Masvidal will maintain his cool Street boy attitude in this fight. Jorge Masvidal won't feel the pressure and he may easily knock out the pressured one. So, It's a win-win situation for Gamebred.
If Gamebred continues his 2019 style, It's obvious that he would win the fight. But, Kamaru Usman can't be underestimated. The undefeated champion is every way preparing to tackle the BMF champion. But, if the Nigerian Nightmare gives a little bit of a chance, The fight may end there leaving a new welterweight champion.
Winner: Jorge Masvidal
Alexander Volkanovski vs Max Holloway - featherweight championship
Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway will meet once again for the featherweight championship in the co-headliner of UFC 251. Last year, Max 'The Blessed' Holloway lost his featherweight championship to Alexander 'The Great' Volkanovski via unanimous decision.
The Blessed one is waiting for a rematch for a long time. Max Holloway, who defended his featherweight gold four times, is eagerly waiting to get his belt back at Fight Island. On the other hand, Both of them didn't enter the octagon after their first meet.
In their first fight, Max Holloway wasn't able to answer the low kicks and rapid punches of Volkanovski. But, Holloway is more determined now. He may take every opportunity to dethrone the great. Also, Alexander Volkanovski is waiting for a great fight and he may continue his eighteen fight win streak after defeating the Blessed one again.
Winner : Alexander Volkanovski
Petr Yan vs Jose Aldo - vacant bantamweight championship
Petr 'No Mercy' Yan will take on Jose Aldo for the vacant bantamweight belt. Henry Cejudo relinquished the title at UFC 249 after his impressive performance over Dominick Cruz. UFC surprisingly chose third-ranked Petr Yan and fifth-ranked Jose Aldo for the vacant title.
Petr Yan has a wonderful resume with a nine-fight win streak. He was at the best level during his last fight against Urijah Faber. We can presume that Petr Yan would continue his dominance over the fifth-ranked. If that happens, We may see a new bantamweight king.
On the other hand, Jose Aldo is facing some slopes in his professional career. With a shift of divisions, The Brazilian native wasn't able to make it against top guys. Last year, Jose Aldo lost to Marlon Moraes but was able to withstand the wrath of Top bantamweight contender making him stand at the top of the division.
Taking No Mercy would be a big task for Jose Aldo, who in view of many people is unworthy for the title shot.
Winner: Petr Yan
Jessica Andrade vs Rose Namajunas
The second women's main card at UFC 251 will feature a rematch between Jessica Andrade and Rose Namajunas. Jessica Andrade and Rose Namajunas previously met at UFC 237 for women's strawweight championship where Jessica Andrade had an upper hand over Namajunas. Andrade surprisingly defeated Namajunas via second-round TKO.
Rose Namajunas didn't enter the octagon after her loss to Jessica. Whereas, Andrade lost the strawweight championship to Zhang Weili in her next fight. Despite the odds, She is a favorite of many people. But, that can't change the destiny that is to lose to Rose Namajunas.
Winner : Rose Namajunas
Amanda Ribas vs Paige VanZant
Whoa! What a way to start the main card of UFC 251. In a flyweight bout, Amanda Ribas will take on Paige '12 Gauge' VanZant.
Amanda Ribas is aiming to remain undefeated in the UFC with a three-fight winning streak at the top brand. Amanda Ribas already filled her pocket with a victory in 2020 over Randa Markos. No one is ready to stop the unstoppable but Paige VanZant is confident to do so. PVZ wasn't successful in her last few fights but this couldn't stop her from taking down Amanda Ribas.
In her recent talks, Paige VanZant clearly stated that she badly wants a win in this fight to prove UFC of what she is worth. Paige VanZant criticized UFC for not paying a fair amount for her job. She claimed that she would have earned the same by doing other jobs and added that she is earning more from advertising on social media.
Paige VanZant said that she is aiming to win this fight despite the huge odds against to prove UFC what she is capable of. If odds aren't the high themes, Paige VanZant is the favorite one to win the fight.
Winner: Paige VanZant
