Greg Hardy vs Yorgan De Castro
The Prince of War, Greg Hardy faced The Mad Titan, Yorgan De Castro in the first main event of UFC 249. This fight was originally scheduled for UFC on ESPN 8 in Columbus which was scrapped later. This gave additional time to Greg Hardy to prepare for the undefeated Yorgan De Castro. When the first round began, Both of them were in control and exchanged some fists and legs. The pace of the match slowed down during the next rounds. But, This both continued to show their strength. At one point in the match De Castro kept himself to the ground. They both made it to three rounds and later Greg Hardy ended the undefeated streak of De Castro via Unanimous decision ( 30-27, 30-27, 30-27). This is a great comeback to Greg Hardy after his loss to Alexander Volkov last November.
Jeremy Stephens vs Calvin Kattar
A couple of fighters who came up with losses faced each other in the octagon. The Boston finisher, Calvin Kattar started to show his dominance from the start of the match against Lil Heathen, Jeremy Stephens. Jeremy Stephens also tried to show his power from the beginning which didn't work out well in the second round when Calvin Kattar hitted him with an elbow. Stephens was off guard which led Calvin Kattar to win the match with a Knockout (Elbow).
Francis Ngannou vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik
seven of Ngannou's victories came within less than two minutes and seven of Rozenstruik victories came by knockout in the first round. We already mentioned anything may happen in this match. Literally Anything. The fight was magic. An undefeated streak came to end when Francis Ngannou faced Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the octagon. The undefeated Bigi Boy, Jairzinho Rozenstruik lost to the power of The predator,Francis Ngannou. When both of the monsters met, the match ended in just 20 seconds when Francis Ngannou knocked out the Bigi Boy. Rozenstruik is not happy with that and seems to be angry.
Henry Cejudo vs Dominick Cruz
This fight is worth a co-headliner. Dominick Cruz returned after a long gap of three years to recapture his bantamweight belt against The Messenger Henry Cejudo. At the beginning both went for some momentum. Both tried to land a few punches which missed. Cejudo then changed to wrestling style to gain upper hand on Cruz. Cejudo targeted the legs of Cruz. In the second round Dominick Cruz tried to punch Cruz where he was caught with a knee. Cruz quickly laid punches over Cruz. AND STILL YOUR CHAMPION, HENRY CEJUDO. The referee stopped the match even when Cruz was trying to get up. Dominick Cruz is not happy with the decision and asked for another title match. But, He wouldn't face Henry Cejudo cause HENRY CEJUDO ANNOUNCED THAT HE IS 33 YEARS OLD AND GOING TO RETIRE THIS DAY
Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaethje
Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaetje, the main event for interim lightweight championship on May 9. Both Tony Ferguson and Justin Gaethje had a good start. They are very fast. Justin Gaethje landed a few strong punches on Ferguson in the first round which Tony survived. Ferguson went for a superman punch early in round 2 which missed. Justin is good and landed a few punches in Round 2 too. Tony went for a high hitting punch which Gaethje survived just when round 2 ended. Round three, four was normal where both guys went for a few rights and lefts. Finally at the end Justin Gaethje did it. In the fifth round, The underdog defeated Tony Ferguson finally via TKO. Justin Gaethje is your new interim lightweight champion.
