Cejudo relinquishes title, Dana White sets new plan for vacant bantamweight belt

UFC 249 co-headliner was aboslutely destructive. The Messenger Henry Cejudo retained the bantamweight belt when he dominated the dominator, Dominick Cruz. Henry Cejudo successfully defended the 135-pound strap in a first round victory over the returning Dominick Cruz. Later after the fight, Henry Cejudo made a sudden retirement statement.

Dominck Cruz met Henry Cejudo after three long years of absency and performed well. He had a good opening over Cejudo. Later in the first round, Cejudo went for few big punches which Dominick Cruz wasn't able to evade. Dominick Cruz survived those punches and treied to get up. But, The match ended when the referee called for a stoppage. Dominick Cruz expressed his distress on the referee.

The Triple C immediately after retaining the bantamweight title said that he is 33 years old and have a daughter to look onto and announced his retirement. Everyone were surprised t to hear this sudden shock made by Henry Cejudo. Now the bantamweight title is set to become vacant and UFC president, Dana White is starting new plans for this vacant belt.

Dana White admitted that he wasn’t expecting Henry Cejudo to retire after his fight, but he knows Cejudo was planning for retirement. Dana White said Cejudo has been talking about retirement to the UFC team from past several months. Dana White said in the conference that he didn’t know Cejudo was going to do it this night. Dana White expressed his view point on retirement. Dana White said it's probably a good idea to think about retirement in this business. Dana White also added it's not in the case of Cejudo. He said Cejudo is one of the best in the world and looked incredible.

Henry Cejudo’s retirement announcement means the bantamweight title will be relinquished and chances are open to two of the toughest contenders to capture the vacant title. Marlon Moraes and Aljamain Sterling are currently the top ranked bantamweight conteneders. But, Chances are very low for them as Dana White chooses a new plan. Dana White said it would be Petr Yan. Petr Yan will be involved in the title fight with some unknown opponent.

Dana White said it will be Petr Yan and somebody. Dana White said that the UFC team is figuring out other person for the fight and by next week it will be revealed. Dana White said we can see a new bantamweight champion very soon. The best one to face Petr Yan may be Marlon Moraes or Aljamain Sterling.

Marlon Moraes is coming off a controversial split-decision victory over Jose Aldo at UFC 245. Aljamain Sterling won his last four fights which favoures him to be in the match against Petr Yan. Aljamain Sterling mentioned Dana White and said Dana have two big beasts to put on the show for the vacant 135lb title and offered himself to be in he fight. Aljmain Sterling said to Petr Yan on twitter that he knows Yan wants this fight to happen against him and challenged Yan that he ready to fight anytime.
