The WWE women's tag team champion Sasha Banks and NXT women's champion Io Shirai brawled at the main event of NXT The Great American Bash where the Blueprint lost the match with an interruption caused by the Empress of tomorrow.

It was reported from various sources that the main event of NXT Great American Bash would end in a no contest which didn't happen. A young talent like Io Shirai beat Sasha Banks and it wouldn't be a tough task for Asuka at Extreme rules.
