Dana White feels featherweight division can't move without Amanda Nunes
The Lioness Amanda Nunes recently stated that she is planning to retire from MMA sooner or later.
Amanda Nunes, the reigning women's bantamweight and featherweight champion successfully defended her featherweight championship at UFC 250 against Felicia Spencer. The Lioness overcame Feenom via unanimous decision at the main event of UFC 250.
Later, Amanda stated that she is having an idea to retire from the sport. Amanda Nunes said that she has achieved everything in the business and claimed she has nothing to prove
Amanda Nunes' retirement will severely destroy the UFC women's division, especially the featherweight division. The women’s featherweight division has had a bad background since its beginning. For a reminder, There are no rankings for the division too.
The UFC president was recently enquired about the situation if Amanda Nunes is out of the business. Dana White didn't hesitate to reveal the fact that the featherweight division may go blank without the Lioness.
Dana White stated that the featherweight division may rip if Amanda Nunes chose a different path. However, The Boss is confident that the Bantamweight division may move without Amanda Nunes.
Dana White revealed that they were planning to build a women's division step by step and The Lioness' retirement thought shocked them. Dana White hopes to talk with Amanda before she officially confirms her retirement.
Dana White said that no one is forcing Amanda Nunes to stay in the business. Further he added that the Lioness can do whatever she wants to do.
But, A small hope is left in Dana White. The Boss is thinking that the retirement thought may just move away from Amanda someday before she officially confirms it. As stated earlier, White is planning to have a conversation with Lioness about her future.
Amanda Nunes stated that she would be competing no more in 2020 to focus on the birth of her first daughter at the post fight press conference of UFC 250. Amanda Nunes is currently engaged with fellow UFC fighter, Nina Ansaroff
Later The Lioness Amanda Nunes changed her and planned to retire from the sport listing her next goals. The Lioness wants to drive a new ship and has many plans on the list like being a coach, searching for new talents, and helping some girls.
For a remainder, This is not the first retirement thought by Nunes. The Lioness earlier stated that she would leave the octagon after defeating Holly Holm. However, The Lioness withdrew the statement later.
