List of matches announced for July's Yas Island tour
A few weeks ago, UFC president Dana White announced the location of fight island and a few matches for UFC 251. Recently, UFC completely unveiled the puzzle by revealing all matches which are going to take place on Fight Island during July.
If you are still hoping the fight island to be a tropical island, you may be still living in the past. The so-called fight island is Yas Island at Abu Dhabi and Dana White didn't purchase it. For a fact, Dana White will be staying at Yas Island for the entire July. If you don't know, Now you know.
The tour to Yas Island begins with UFC 251 which takes place on July 11. UFC 251 will feature three world title fights.
The main event of UFC 251 will feature Kamaru Usman vs Gilbert Burns. Kamaru Usman will defend his welterweight championship against Gilbert Burns who recently jumped to the first spot.
The co-headliner will feature Alexander Volkanovski vs Max Holloway. Alexander Volkanovski will defend his featherweight championship against Max Holloway who was a former champion.
Also, Petr Yan will face Jose Aldo for the vacant bantamweight belt. Henry Cejudo relinquished the title at UFC 249 after his victory over Dominick Cruz.
Keeping the prizes aside, There would be a rematch between Jessica Andrade and Rose Namajunas. Further, Paige VanZant will take on a big challenge in the form of Amanda Ribas who is dominating the octagon at such a young age.
UFC will be back after four days which will be headlined by Calvin Kattar and Dan Ige. The co-headliner will feature a bantamweight fight between Frankie Edgar and Pedro Munhoz. Frankie Edgar is confident to prove something in his new zone.
The show has just begun and the next fight night will feature a championship match. Deiveson Figuredo will face Joseph Benavidez for the vacant flyweight title in the main event. Also, Jack Hermansson will face Kelvin Gastelum in the co-main event.
