Edge thinks that there is no such thing as the greatest wrestling match ever

Backlash is days away and the show which is dubbed as the Greatest Wrestling Match Ever will showcase a straight up wrestling match between former friends and current foes, Randy Orton and Edge.

Before facing the Viper, Edge in one of his recent interview stated that there is no such thing like the greatest match ever.

Edge said that no one could be able to say definitively, the greatest song of all time and the greatest painting of all time and the greatest movie of all time and the greatest band of all time and everything else.

Edge said that It’s impossible to answer these questions and if one thinks about one option, the other thinks about another option, There's no general consensus. Edge continued by saying that one can have great wrestling matches but the answer for the greatest wrestling match varies to almost everybody.

The Hall of Famer, Edge came to know about the greatest wrestling match ever moniker from Vince McMahon and Paul Heyman during the start of May.

Edge thought they were just joking and laughed until he realised that it's serious. Edge sooner came to know what it's all about. Edge said his reaction was "Is this wise?" because everytime failure knocks the door if we presume that something is gonna be the greatest thing of all time beforehand.

If Edge was to look at it on the paper and go right, first proper wrestling match back in nine and a half years and WWE wants to bill it as the greatest wrestling match ever. Edge said that it is highly pressure filled to prove the audience that it is seriously the greatest wrestling match ever.

Also on other hand, Edge can’t look at it in that way because he can understand that it’s only promotion and hype. Edge added that he always goes out with a mindset to try and have the best match that he has ever had.

Edge questioned whether his match would match up to Steamboat vs. Savage or Shawn Michaels vs The Undertaker. All Edge can do is to measure up against himself. Edge added that he is happy to be out there at this stage of his career.

When Edge and Randy Orton met at Wrestlemania in a Last Man Standing match, Edge had an upper hand over the Viper and will this stand as a preview of Backlash or will the Viper counter the Grit and Passion of Edge? The answer may be waiting at Backlash which is earlier taped.
