Justin's coach says, the fight is going to be remembered of all time
As you already know, Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaethje fight was scheduled for May 9 at UFC 249 event for the interim title fight as Khabib was out of UFC 249 due to travel restrictions because of covid19 pandemic outbreak in Russia.
With the continuous efforts to bring the UFC events back on track, UFC's president Dana White replaced the Khabib with Justin Gaethje to fight against Tony Ferguson for the interim title fight.
During an interview with ESPN, Justin's coach Trevor Wittman has shared his views on the upcoming fight against Tony Ferguson. When he was asked about things going through before signing up for the contract, he said, he is the main pilot, and my fighters are like drivers. When Justin received a call from UFC management to fight Tony Ferguson, Justin reached out to his coach and his coach advised not to take the fights in short notice, but Justin convinced his coach to fight Tony Ferguson ultimately becoming number one contender to fight for the world championship title.
When asked him about Justin's conditioning, he said, Justin is always in shape and his conditioning is ready for fighting to Tony. This fight is more of a mental fight than as conditioning and both Tony, Justin are great mental machines, both bring a lot of excitement in the fights and it is going to be a great excitement watching the best fighters fighting for the interim world lightweight championship.
Then, he praised Tony Ferguson that's what he liked about Tony and gives props for his drunken style and unique way of fighting with unpredictable styles. Unlike other fighters, he said, he is skilled in all areas. Tony has uniqueness in his fights and it's every fight is different and difficult as tony can both wrestle and box, he is an intelligent fighter.
