All you need to know about Jon Moxley's new movie - Mox part 1

Jon Moxley is the number one wrestler in AEW. His career turned a new route after joining AEW. Jon Moxley is currently the AEW World Champion and New Japan Pro Wrestling‘s IWGP United States Champion. He also started to appear in a few movies like Cagefighter: Worlds Collide. This movie will premiere on Fite TV on May 16.

Recently Jon Moxley talked in an interview about his movie, his work in AEW and NJPW, and many more. Let's find out more on this page.

When Jon Moxley was questioned about his beginning in the Cagefighter movie, he said that It was actually pretty fortunate for him to get the chance In the movie. He said that fellow wrestler, Christian called him and asked to join in the movie. Christian was the executive producer of that movie and when the movie team wanted a pro wrestler in it, he chose Jon Moxley who at that time was a free agent.

Jon Moxley said that it was a spooky timing and he immediately said to Christain that he was in and asked for the script. Jon Moxley knew that Christian wouldn't film crappy movies and he immediately agreed to the deal. Jon Moxley was over-excited about acting in that film. The film was all of Mox's Interest.

Jon Moxley's character in that movie is similar to the real-life Mox except for one thing. In that movie, Jon Moxley is an antagonist or simply villain. But, in real life, Mox is a hero. Moxley makes fun of Chris Jericho by saying that his character in the movie is a little bit like Jericho. Chris Jericho just says something that just makes us punch him right in the nose. Moxley brought the same character to the movie. Maybe Moxley was prepared by Chris Jericho for this movie as he is mastering the villains

Moxley said that they had a big press conference scene that was one of the funniest things he has ever done because it was just an hour of him sitting up on the podium and yelling and screaming profanities and calling every name in the world and just saying whatever came to his mind and just going off and ad-libbing. He got to ad-lib like ninety percent of everything he said in this movie, and the movie team gave him the freedom to do that. So hopefully the way he comes across in this movie makes everybody want to get up off the couch and punch him in the face.

Jon Moxley said that he didn't train well to do this MMA based movie. He added that he planned on coming into the movie in the absolute best shape of his life, trying to look like Clubber Lang in Rocky III and Thunderlips in Rocky II or whatever it was. But Moxley ended up having surgery and getting hurt, so he didn’t train in the way he wanted to. He wasn't in the best shape and Moxley thought the production department would do something like Photoshop to look at him as a big villain guy. But, they didn't do so.

Jon Moxley also included that he did a lot of hard work with Alex Montagnani who plays as Reiss in the movie. Alex was originally the fight coordinator and he put the original fights together, which is a whole other art in itself, fight coordinating. For Moxley, it’s fun, it’s not even like work. That’s the funniest part of movies.

Jon Moxley said that he worked his ass off for learning the kicks. Jon Moxley is not good at kicks. But, For this movie, he strives his ass off in learning the kicks. But, Jon Moxley later came to know that kicks are not needed for that movie. All the hard work he did in learning those kicks became useless. But, Jon Moxley said that those kicks will be useful in his professional wrestling career.

Jon Moxley also revealed his New Japan Pro Wrestling career. When Jon Moxley was asked about his NJPW debut and about his tag team partner Shota Umino, Jon Moxley answered that It was a small thing that grew into a big funnier thing. He said that there are many factions in NJPW like Chaos, L.I.J., and the Bullet Club, and Moxley is kind of a guy who is independent. On the off days of the G1, there are tag matches, but Jon Moxley has no tag partners. So basically, he needs a tag partner. Jon Moxley said that would beat him, respect his toughness, and then decided to make him his, like, young boy tag partner thing. But he is so funny added Moxley about Shota Umino.

He said that he came to New Japan to finally be this serious, kickass competitor, but when he looked at Shota Umino and when the cameras were on, Jon just couldn’t help. Because Mox enjoys doing, like, improv comedy on the fly sometimes, He thinks he has a bit of a knack for deadpan humor and stuff like that. So he just couldn’t help but make the situation kind of funny, because this was the opportunity for some comedy gold here with Shota. As soon as Mox called him Shooter, he knew everyone was going to start calling him Shooter, which he thought was funny too.

And when Shota Umino was going to the UK, Jon Moxley gave him one of his jackets that he had worn to the ring. Moxley guaranteed that when the young Shota goes to the UK, everyone would chant ‘Shooter’ at him and people are going to pay more attention to him and he’s going to gain experience more quickly. So hopefully when he comes back he will be a big star and the king of Japan and Moxley is all old and broken down, and Shota throws a but at him.

Jon Moxley also revealed that facing Minoru Suzuki was a dream come true. He said that it is just kind of a dream match that he was hoping for one day. Moxley didn’t think their paths would ever cross, and it was like that would be really great, Mox said that Minoru Suzuki is kind of a bucket list opponent to check off. Jon Moxley said that no one knows when their last match would be. He said that no one knows when their last day is until their last day. So Mox thought before retiring, it would be really cool to get a chance to wrestle him and he did that. He said that the match was an extremely physical and violent affair.

Jon Moxley also reveals his coolest moment in AEW, advised young and inexperienced wrestlers, mentions this tough situation, and much more. Read Jon Moxley cage fighter interview part 2
