Howard Finkel became a WWE employee when he was 25 years old. He is the best friend of Vince McMahon and the longest-tenured employee in WWE. Finkel not only worked as a ring announcer, but He also showed up in the creative and talent department

Finkel didn't take part in scripted storylines of WWE as a ring announcer. But, He appeared in some segments. Finkel played a major role in the Curt Hennig and Kerry Von Erich storyline. Later, he became involved in a feud with Harvey Wippleman and engaged in his first match. Finkel defeated Harvey on Monday night raw. He also showed up in a feud between X-Pac and Jeff Jarrett where he was by the side of X-Pac in a Hair versus Hair Match.

Later, Finkel became a lackey of Chris Jericho. He also turned heel and engaged in a feud with co ring announcer Lilian Garcia for the lead spot. Finkel gradually decreased to appear as the ring announcer. He would show up only at the Hall of Fame ceremony. He was inducted as a Hall of Famer in the year 2009. Later, he was completely replaced as a ring announcer.

Finkel appeared at every WrestleMania from 1985 to 2016. Later he only became a part of the WWE website. He also voiceovers the dirt sheet program of Miz and Morrison.

Finkel appeared a few times after 2009. Finkel appeared as a ring announcer only for one night on November 15, 2010, episode of Raw. Fans were very happy to see him as a special ring announcer for CM Punk, in his WWE Championship match against Alberto Del Rio. Finkel appeared as a special ring announcer on the 1,000th episode of Raw. Finkel finally appeared backstage.

His pass over yesterday disappointed many people all over the world. People started to search for his legendary videos and remembered his great moments in WWE.

Vince McMahon shared that he was saddened to learn of the passing of his friend and WWE’s first employee, WWE Hall of Famer Howard Finkel. The grandest moments in sports-entertainment history were made all the grander thanks to Howard’s iconic voice.

Roma Reigns said "Even as Howard’s health declined, he was more concerned about me and my fight to be healthy. We lost one of the greatest ever. He was the greatest ring announcer ever, and that couldn’t even compare to the human being that he was."

Stephanie McMahon said that this has already been a tough week for the WWE family (WWE RELEASES) and on this day we lost our first-ever employee and WWE Hall of Famer, Howard Finkel. She recalled that Howard’s voice is iconic & recognized by generations of fans and he will be missed. She thanked late Finkel for his accomplishments on this sad day.

Triple H said that superstars weren’t superstars until they heard Howard announced them. A championship win didn’t feel real until they heard him say “and the new!”. His voice, his personality, and his positivity will be sorely missed. Thank you for everything...especially your friendship.

Kevin Owens said that the Last time he saw Howard was when a few of the boys(Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson, Sheamus, Cesaro) got together to go visit him. Howard Finkel was very happy and so were they. At one point, he busted out that trademark flawless ring announcer voice and rocked the whole place. He still had the pipes. Kevin said that he will always cherish that memory.
