Chahal said that Chess made him to be patient

Yuzvendra Chahal is a well-known name in the cricket industry, call him funny, magic or any of the name you want but he is the all-time best bowler in Indian cricket history and may induce in future hall of fame of cricket. His determination, patience, and brilliance in the ground led India to victory so many times. Chahal is a true hero and always a good friend to Virat Kohli and follows his captain in a well executive way.




Chahal is a former chess player and should have been the best chess player in the world. but he left the game when there were no sponsors to sponsor him financially. He is a former under 12 chess champion. He represented India at world youth chess championships. He made it in the world chess federation website with Elo rating( Ratings to measure skills of players in a game like chess) 1956.

In an interview with Grandmaster Abhijeet Gupta and International Master Rakesh Kulkarni, Chahal said that Chess taught him patience. In cricket, bowlers maybe bowling well but they may not take the wickets. In a Test match, bowlers may have bowled well in a day but may not get the wickets. bowlers may be disappointed with it but should have to come back the next day so bowlers need a lot of patience. Chahal said that Chess has helped him out in a lot of ways. He said that he has learned to be patient by playing chess and getting batsmen down.


He didn't mention the sponsorship issue when he was asked about the decision to choose cricket over chess even if he had a good career in chess. Chahal said he did that because he had more interest in cricket than in playing chess. Chahal exclaimed that he asked his dad about the decision and his dad gave the choice to him. Chahal said that he is more interested in cricket so he continued there.

Blitz is one of the formats in chess in which players get 10 minutes to play with some time increments. Chahal showed his dominance against R Praggnanandhaa, India's second-youngest Grandmaster ever, Nihar Sarin and Karthikeyan Murali and some other well-known names.






Chahal is currently in a quarantine life and posting some funny videos on his social media platforms. He also mentioned his quarantine life by saying that he usually doesn't get the time to spend with his family members. He said that after many years he got the time to spend at home. Now he is spending a lot of time with his family. It is a good and new experience. He is very happy by having to sleep late at night and wake up late in the morning and spend time with his family members in the evening. Chahal also said that he was inspired by Australian leg breaker Shane Warne. he also mentioned that he plays chess online during free times.

He also mentions taking the wicket of Faf Duplessis in the 2019 world cup. He said that It was his first world cup and he took Duplessis,it was a big wicket in the game. Chahal said that in the way of chess, bowlers should plan a lot. Yes, a lot of planning bowlers do in cricket, he said that he is going to discuss with the keeper what he is going to do next. He said that he did speak the strategy to a keeper as he did with dhoni.

He also requested people to stay indoors and help fight the COVID 19 pandemic. He told us to stay home and this is the opportunity to become a hero by staying home. Also in a recent twitter post, Mumbai Indians asked a question, are you pumped to see Bumrah bowl to Chahal? For which Chahal replied in a funny way saying Keep dreaming I am batting no.10 or 11 before me finch ABD sir and king Kohli is there first to get them out then we will talk about my batting.
