Dana White reveals the place and time for upcoming UFC event

UFC 249 was scheduled for April 18 which was canceled a long time ago and fans are missing out on the live fights. Dana White recently discussed the fight island concept which is in progress. To survive the wrath of the ongoing pandemic, There should be a backup.

Earlier today, Dana White informed ESPN that there will definitely be a live event on May 9. In the beginning, Dana White did not reveal the location and later today he revealed that the events will be hosted at UFC Apex, which is located adjacent to UFC headquarters in Las Vegas.

This location will serve as a base location for May 9 and for subsequent events. The third contender series during last year which streamed live on ESPN+ was also hosted at this location.

Dana White revealed that they (UFC team) built the Apex facility next door just in time to save the day from the ongoing threat of COVID-19. He added that live fights will be produced out of there starting from May and for the foreseeable future.

Even though the location is ready, we won't get the live crowd due to the threat of COVID-19. UFC officials had a great task to choose the location for the company’s live events.

Dana White informed that this will not slow down the phase of fight island and it will open sometime in late May or early June. We can't get fighters from all over the world to the United States as there are restrictions. But, We can get them to Fight Island.

Finally, we are going to see the fight against Tony Ferguson. The following fights are announced by Dana White for May 9.
