Cris Cyborg slams UFC’S current schedule

Cris Cyborg (22-2 MMA, 1-0 BMMA), former UFC featherweight champion and current Bellator featherweight women’s champion is not happy with the fight island concept of her ex-boss Dana White.

Cyborg in back performed for Invicta FC (A promotion for MMA female division) where she held Invicta FC featherweight championship. While still being the champion, She signed for UFC. Later, she defended it twice at Invicta FC.

A month ago, we heard from Cris Cyborg that she had both nice times and hard times in UFC which led her to think that she may retire from MMA and take a long break. She made a note that she had great stress not only inside the octagon but outside the cage. It is UFC, number one brand and stress is part and parcel of life. She said that this is the reason for signing Bellator and this made her motivated and enjoy life again.

Cyborg planned to join Bellator while starting her career before getting the contract from UFC. She left Invicta FC as there were fewer fights. When Cyborg joined UFC, she didn't have her division and later featherweight division was introduced.

After entering the featherweight division, She had a good start at the beginning. She thought that she could handle it. But, it became harder for her when stress is swinging. Cris Cyborg had her first loss in UFC against Amanda Nunes and she wanted a rematch. Everyone wants a rematch for their first loss. But, she couldn't get it even after asking the officials.

We may see Amanda and Cyborg in the far future. But, We are living in reality and Cyborg may not leave Bellator as she is enjoying her career there and almost escaped from retiring. UFC earlier this week announced that they are running UFC in this difficult situation and going to organize an event on May 9. Former UFC champion, Cris Cyborg slams it.

In a recent interview, Cyborg informed that she didn't like the concept of fight island and other programs by UFC. When Cyborg was asked about the UFC and their current schedule in this global pandemic, she said that she didn't like the plan and said that they were putting fighters at risk. Cyborg previously exited from UFC and joined Bellator where she won her debut match.

Cris Cyborg said that Everybody has to be quarantined and no one is exempted and that is the rule for everyone. She said that many people are struggling now and if this "fight island" or any other event continues, then it will be a risk to their family and she thinks it’s better to wait, like everyone and respect everyone.
