2020 is curse to Dana White - We may not see Tony and Khabib in 2020
2020 is really a disastrous year in history. Many people lost their livelihood due to ongoing global pandemic situations. COVID-19 is sucking people's blood like a bloodsucker and many other disasters are fueling it up. UFC president, Dana White is very upset about 2020 and willing to pass this year somehow.
UFC scrapped many events following the outbreak of novel coronavirus and many people were impacted by this. UFC itself gained huge losses this year and Dana White recently used his twitter to share the experience of how 2020 sucked people by sharing memes and a list of disastrous events that took place in 2020.
He listed out this event which messed the world in 2020
- The heat which almost brought world war 3
- The forest fires in Australia which took away the lives many innocent animals
- Dana is a big fan of basketball and he felt very sad on the death of Kobe Bryant
- Sports all over the world were canceled
- Millions of people are sick and thousands were dead
- The world is shutdown
- Carole Baskin killed her husband
- Gronk is out of retirement
- Kim Jong Un might be dead
UFC 249 was originally scheduled for April and UFC 250 for May. but, UFC is now postponed for may and UFC 250 is nowhere in the scene. Also Dana White recently addressed on Reddit about Tony and Khabib's fight. Dana White isn't confident about that fight in 2020.
The Tony and Khabib fight was scrapped for the fifth time. These legends were first scheduled to fight at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale in December 2015 which was canceled when Khabib declared that he had a rib injury. Later this duo was rebooked for UFC on FOX 19 in April 2016 which was canceled when Tony suffered an injury. They were again scheduled to fight at UFC 209 in March 2017 which was scrapped when Khabib Nurmagomedov was unable to compete. Tony and Khabib were thought to be the main eventers for UFC 223 until Tony lost control due to a tear in the ligament. UFC 249 was one of the last hopes to see that fight which was also canceled when Khabib was struck in Russia.
Later as we know, Tony will face the replaced Justin Gaethje at UFC 249 and the winner of this main event will face Khabib for UFC lightweight championship. The odds are in favor of Tony Ferguson and Dana White said earlier that Khabib is ready to fight in October.
Recently Dana White announced on Reddit that he may not see this fight in 2020. When Dana was asked how confident he was on Khabib and Tony fighting this year, He said that he is not very confident about this fight in this year. Dana White said that he was afraid of what will happen next if they try to make that happen again mentioning those unsuccessful attempts.
