UFC 249 Cancelled- Dana with fight island concept
All the promotions, all the heat suddenly fell to the ground when UFC 249 was canceled. The only happiest person to hear the news is Khabib Nurmagomedov. Now, this is canceled, we may expect a new match card sooner or later in the future. Really it's been a disastrous week for the UFC. But we all know that doctor craze is not going to stop his efforts. Dana White is still working on a solution to host the UFC events.
Earlier, Disney officials and ESPN officials have talked to Dana white and explained the emergency situation which pulled out of UFC 249. This is just for namesake and Dana is still continuing his efforts to search a place.
Dana White is planning to go ahead with his “Fight Island". Even the UFC officials don't know where it is and what it takes. Dana White said that the fight island is currently being set up and will be served as both training ground for fighters and a venue for events. We don't know whether Dana is going to buy the island or take it for rent. If he purchases the island then we can expect future UFC events from that island
White earlier took a shot at ESPN and in an explaining tone said to everyone not to worry because ‘Fight Island’ is gonna happen. All the infrastructure built is right now and get started. He said that as they get closer to that, he will start figuring out booking fights, getting guys ready. Plus, he will be ready to ship guys over there earlier, and they can start training over there, on the island.
Dana White said that it hardly takes a month to arrange the fight island.So, once that’s all in place. He said that people will be out of their homes in a month and be ready to train on the island. He called the UFC roster to train and get ready for an adventurous trip.
UFC 249 was scheduled to take place at Tachi Palace Casino Resort in Lemoore, California. But it was canceled due to the global situations. Dana White responded and offered Tachi palace that it will be rewarded with a UFC event when situations are clear.
He mentioned that one thing he needed to point out is that Tachi Palace in California. It has had UFC back this whole time and has stood their ground and was willing to do this fight. He said that, When the world gets back to normal, A UFC event will be conducted at Tachi Palace. Really he is making a fight there. He's going to bring them literally a big fight, and he appreciated them for standing with him in these hard times. Also, all further events are said to be canceled. So, UFC 250 is also going to be down.
Dana believes in him. He said that UFC will be the first sport to bounce back this trouble, fight island is real and you. And you can't believe your eyes by seeing it. He also said that all our dream matches will come alive on the fight island. Even after such talk, Dana didn't reveal where exactly the fight island is. He also said not to worry about the financial part of fight island, players are going to get the fights on their contract. He said that he will make things settle within the next week.
