Ben Askren Retired from MMA
One of the greatest grapplers of MMA, Ben Askren has announced his retirement on Ariel Lalwani podcast show. Ben Askren mentioned hip replacement is the major factor for considering retirement.
It is very sad to see him leave MMA, he had a great good career in Bellator, One Championship with an unbeaten record. After trade-off between Determious Johnson and Ben Askern had the opportunity to get into UFC.
He had great dreams of becoming the UFC Champion in welterweight division and fighting against Khabib. in March 2019, UFC 233 he faced Robbie Lawler and it was a controversial win, then he faced Jorge Masvidal in UFC 239, and devastating KO loss in UFC history with a record of 5 seconds.
Then he faced Demian Mia in October 2019. Demian Mia is a great Brazilian Black Belt Jitsu Jitsu Specialist. Demian Mia made Ben tap and won in the 3rd round by submitting the Ben via Rear necked Choke. After the submission loss against Demian Mia, Ben Askern has shared his mixed feelings on considering retirement.
Hopefully, he undergoes hip replacement surgery and recover soon and watch him again fighting in the Octagon.
